Soleil Moon Frye Hits A Million Twitter Followers, Dresses Up Like Punky Brewster To Celebrate

It’s the classic tale. A childhood icon refuses to give their fans what they want, refuses to go back and reunite, relive or sometimes even acknowledge the shows and roles that made them famous. “Saved By The Bell’s” Tiffani Thiessen had a good sense of humor about it, but many of our favorites have become bitter, bitter people. It’s enough to make you want to crawl into an abandoned refrigerator.

This is all a thing of the past. We can die happy now. This is the greatest day of our lives. Punky Brewster is back. Not some awful remake, or a grainy YouTube clip, but Soleil Moon Frye, Punky herself, has resurrected the mighty Punky Power for all of us to revel in. To celebrate her 1 Millionth follower on Twitter, Miss Moon Frey donned her fabulous mismatched Punky garb and strutted her stuff for a web video.

According to her Twitter (which we here at Comedy.com follow religiously) she’s focused more on motherhood and her eco-friendly children’s boutique The Little Seed than her acting career, but we’re sure that doesn’t make it any less difficult to go back to her roots, and approach it with such a positive, charming and, let’s face, it Punky-like pizzazz. She even revisits all her catch phrases!

Our favorite has to be, “First my mother left me, now my father left me.” Hilarious, Punky. You said the darndest things.

Not every childhood icon has the guts to give us what we want.
