Happy Monday! It is time to honor those special moments in life by sharing cringe-worthy home videos of them! Milestone Monday allows us to revel in the awkwardness of others, so ours seems less hideously embarrassing.
Nothing says “you are old enough to be an adult in the eyes of Jewish law” like a full-force solo Michael Jackson dance. And nobody knows that better than Shawn Goldberg who has blessed the Internets with this footage from his 1984 Bar Mitzvah.
He does tip his hat a bit by moonwalking before the music even starts, but he’s clearly very excited about the performance he’s about to give. When the Bar Mitzvah band breaks into their rendition of “Beat It,” we know we’re in for a real treat. We dare you to find a Michael Jackson tribute that’s more committed, passionate, young and Jewish as this one.
