Here at RetroComedy, we’ve been feeling absolutely terrible about our lack of Michael Jackson honoring this summer. Perhaps it was just too painful. Perhaps we hadn’t found the proper tribute. Whatever the reason, we really haven’t given him the fabulous RetroComedy treatment that a pop icon/musical genius/creep deserves. Until now.
We present to you, dear readers, “Throbber.” It combines our love of horrible, awkward public access with the musical masterpiece, “Thriller.”
Everything about this video is weird. From the incomprehensible warning at the beginning, to the atrocious acting to the casting of the “hot” ladies. We seriously can’t figure it out. It seems to be a parody of Thriller, replacing zombies with… mall girls? Horror is replaced with with… romance? Ola Ray (“Thriller’s” leading lady) with… Rhoda Morgenstern? Maybe? Who knows. It is insanely awful. That is, of course, why we love it.
