A true 90s icon has passed away this week at the age of 15, or 73 depending on how you look at it. Gidget, the Taco Bell chihuahua passed way at her home due to a seizure.
Though she was mostly retired, she was active as ever in our minds and hearts. Her catch phrase of “Yo Queiro Taco Bell” had long been replaced in the collective pop culture psyche by “Are You Gellin?” and “Can you hear me now?” but her tiny, skinny face and deep, stereotypically Mexican voice will be emblazoned in our memories forever. Whether we like it or not.
RIP, little doggie. You’ll be eating chalupas in heaven forever.
