It’s time to pour yourself a scotch and light up a Lucky Strike! Mad Men season 2 is out on DVD today! Well, you know we’re beside ourselves! We can’t get enough of that super sexy Don Draper (played by the delicious Jon Hamm) and all the put-upon folks he crosses paths with. Not to mention our love for old, creepy ads.
To celebrate the new DVD release, and in anticipation of the August season 3 premier, we’ve collected out favorite Mad Men parodies from the web and the Tv. They may not be as perfect as Don’s hair, Betty’s wardrobe or Joan’s rack, but they’ll do in a pinch!
5. SIMPSONS
Spot-on, and totally ridiculous. We’re pretty sure Homer is the anti-Don.
4. THE SOUP
Not so much of a “spoof” per se, more like a bit. But Levar freakin’ Burton is in it, so we love it just the same!
3. MAD LIBS
What can we say? This is hilarious. The retro blogger in us does have one small complaint- would it kill you to get some era-appropriate hair on those ladies? Seriously? Other than that it is genius!
2. MESHUGENNE MEN
The only thing that could make us love Mad Men more is if there was a Sederis in it. Now out dreams have come true. This one may be a little confusing for you gentiles out there, but trust us: this sketch is awesome.
1. DON DRAPER’S GUIDE (SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE)
SNL’s other Mad Men sketch was pretty lackluster (notice it isn’t on this list), even if it featured our beloved cast. They sure made up for it with this one. We finally find out how Don lands all the ladies!
