Whoah. That’s Al Franken in the 1970s sketch film Tunnel Vision. The nearly forgotten film starred several names we remember today: John Candy, Chevy Chase, Larraine Newman and the delightful Howard Hesseman ( Johnny Fever from WKRP) as a politician investigating the first uncensored TV network. But only one cast member went on to become a real live senator! Al Franken!
He’s awesomely awkward as he tries to get the girl, only to be shot down due to his personality. But just like in politics, Franken wins in the end.
