What about their clothes for non-employees? My dad had a shirt in the eighties with a big picture of a Big Mac on the front and then entire Big Mac "song" (i.e. Two All-Beef Patties…etc.) on the back. Surely they had other designs.

Look over the whole ad set again. I think Richard J.'s comment was to point out that the only non-white in the entire set. Look carefully. (In other words, its a snide comment on the 80s mind-set in the USA.)

Of course, I think the whole McFashion thing is totally unremarkable – go to your local Goodwill, St. Vincent De Paul, Salvation Army store, or other "give us donations to sell to the poor" store and look through the clothes. Tons of companies give out branded clothing – it is a common tactic when generating brand loyalty and name recognition. Now go onto the street and see how many walking advertisements you can find…
